Our Federal government is taking steps and promoting a Green country by reducing our carbon footprint on the earth. The current administration is putting forth a large amount of money through grants and tax rebates to ensure that this country becomes independent from crude oil and fossil fuels.

Everywhere we look, there is talk about reducing energy, tax rebates, energy credits, and prescriptive and custom incentives from the utility companies. What does this all mean, and where do you start?

Newcomb and Company has just completed our own Green Initiative, and is striving to reduce our carbon footprint and save energy. We are encouraging our employees to recycle certain office and construction materials. We have implemented the use of variable speed drives, a Dynamic Filtration System, a building automation system, and motion sensors. We are also investigating the paybacks and savings related to updating our own HVAC system, lighting controls, and light fixture selections.
